Programs for teachers, parents and
students
"Gina Johnson is living proof that learning and study skills
matter! Direct, humorous, and knowledgeable, Johnson is generous
with ideas and techniques for teachers, parents and students."
Gina Johnson, founder and director of
Study Smart, Inc., communicates effectively with anyone! As the
parent of two high school students herself, she is "in the
trenches" with parents. As a teacher and the author of extensive
study skills curriculum and director of the Study Smart learning
centers, Johnson knows what she's talking about when it comes
to helping students succeed!
Parents like to hear what she has to say because she understands
the parent-student relationship and what it takes at home to
help students be successful. Teachers like to hear what she has
to say because she understands the classroom and the school environment.
When students hear about her own struggles in school, they pay
attention because they know she's been in their shoes!
Johnson struggled in school until her third year of college,
when she learned specific techniques to quickly comprehend her
reading materials, and to store information in her long-term
memory. Johnson quickly excelled to the top of her class, finishing
with straight A's and a degree in secondary education and communication.
Over the past ten years, Johnson has given a variety of presentations
ranging from the Fort Bend Community Conference, the Cy-Fair
VIPS Conference, numerous community television events, including
the Debra Duncan Show, Community Educational Television, and
feature news items, as well as staff development presentations
for both public and private schools and numerous elementary,
middle and high school presentations for both parents and students.
Responses are overwhelmingly positive: "Absolutely wonderful
and informative." "The best one today! Extremely effective
presentation and very useful information."
